The SIVY6630 (SCSI) features high availability hardware & firmware architecture which automatically detects bad array sectors & failing disk drives before data is affected. Operating system independent & transparent with Windows, Linux, Novell, UNIX, or Mac based servers. On-line expansion allows the user to add drives to an existing array without interrupting operation.

• Disk Self Test automatically tests RAID hard drive health. DST performs write, servo analysis, & read scan tests; the test results are displayed on the LCD & Hyperterminal outputs.
• Disk Scrubbing uses idle time to test disks. If a sector is corrupted, DS regenerates data from other RAID member disks & writes it to an uncorrupted sector. DS prevents having multiple corrupted sectors in a single stripe, one of the main causes of data loss.
• Disk Cloning used with the SATA SMART function, determines the optimum time for the system to begin cloning a failing drive to a system hot spare disk. The cloned disk automatically takes over array function, eliminating degraded performance during rebuilds.
