Description These bundles include a Janus6651E SAS/SATA II-Fibre unit with choice of four drive sizes, five-year warranty, 4Gb Fibre HBA interface card & transceiver, & a maintenance kit that contains a drive, a drive tray, a power supply, & fan. Memory upgrades and battery backup units are also available - please contact your RaidWeb representative for more details. The Janus6651E is a single controller, 3Gb SAS to 4Gb RAID system. Features a compact 3U - 16 bay chassis, hot-swappable power supplies and fans. The RAID controller, fans, and power supplies are modularized, allowing for easy removal from the rear of the unit. Also features a CGI-based GUI which allows easy remote configuration and monitoring using a web browser. A new feature to the 6651E is an expansion port that enables a JBOD expansion unit to be attached, increasing the total storage capacity without the cost of another independent RAID subsystem. The JBOD expansion feature can reduce the total cost of ownership of a RaidWeb storage solution. The Janus 6651E contains the following built-in functions: - Disk Self Test automatically tests RAID hard drive health. DST performs write, servo analysis, & read scan tests; the test results are displayed on the LCD & Hyperterminal outputs.
- Disk Scrubbing uses idle time to test disks. If a sector is corrupted, DS regenerates data from other RAID member disks & writes it to an uncorrupted sector. DS prevents having multiple corrupted sectors in a single stripe, one of the main causes of data loss.
- Disk Cloning used with the SATA SMART function, determines the optimum time for the system to begin cloning a failing drive to a system hot spare disk. The cloned disk automatically takes over array function, eliminating degraded performance during rebuilds.
